Baked In Brick

I started my street food dream 4 years ago in my garden after building a wood fired oven and having lots of family pizza parties, ive always loved street food and attending street food events, i was working as a chef lecturer at University College Birmingham at the time but decided to take the leep into street food and i have never turned back.

I bought a classic mini on ebay and started to convert this into a mobile wood fired oven with a BBQ under the bonnet where the engine used to sit. I converted the mini myself and build the oven with my own hands learning and watching YouTube videos along the way.  I new in street food to be successful you need to stand out, have an amazing looking stand and, serve amazing tasty simple food, which i feel i have accomplished. After trading for 12 months in 2017 i won the British Street Food Awards having my Beef Shin Ragu Calzone named the best main course dish and wining the overall prize of ‘Best of the Best’  then in 2018 i took Baked In Brick on an epic journey to Berlin to compete in the European Street Food awards and again i won Best main course and the main prize of the Best Street food trader in Europe.

I keep my menus simple but interesting. I only use the very best ingredients, i try and keep these local or i use suppliers who i have a friendship with rather than a big organisation. I never skimp on cost to save a few pennies, all of my menu is food i and my family and friends love to eat .
