Red Stripe are returning to Field Day for 2015 as one of the festival’s sponsors. As well as beingnamed the beer of the festival, the Red Stripe Bandstand will showcase an eclectic mix of DJs including the very best of East End club night regulars such as Frau DJs and Justin Robertson
This year’s impressive line-up on the Red Stripe Bandstand is:
Saturday 6th June
All-girl DJ collective Frau DJ’s head up the bill, which will make for Charli Avery’s second year on the Red Stripe Bandstand. Polish prodigy Klaves also features on the line up, ReviveHER DJs are on board, and Bugged Out favourite Lemmy Ashton completes the Saturday.
Sunday 7th June
Industry veteran Justin Robertson is welcomed back and plays alongside The Social’s Heavenly Jukebox and NTS radio presenter Nathan Gregory Wilkins. Twisted Nerve Records founder Andy Votel also features on the Sunday, and Desperate Soundsystem, including Pulp’s Steve Mackey and Ben Fat Trucker, complete the line-up.
A new addition for 2015 is Red Stripe’s giant headphone statue. Made out of hundreds of cans of Jamaica’s favourite beer, the 3 metre high build is made to look like a pair of over-ear headphones and will be suspended above the ground, allowing festival goers to walk through and stand between each headphone. Standing a way in front of the huge statue provides a perfect selfie opportunity, with the perspective giving the impression that the punters are actually wearing the headphones. It is set to be located between the festival’s main entrance and the village green area of the site, and will make for an unusual new meeting point. The build will also be pumping out a choice selection of Field Day inspired tracks throughout both days of the festival.
