We are excited to announce that the Doug Hream Blunt will be joining us on both days at Field Day this year, and what’s more…for his Saturday show he’s looking for a band to play with him!
Doug Hream Blunt learnt to play music at the age of 35, by taking an adult class in the late 1980s. The class was organised by a high school music teacher and his wife, and held in their small garage in the Golden Gate Park neighbourhood of San Francisco. The other students of the class became Doug’s band members, while his teacher joined on vibes, and his wife on bass. To promote his music, Doug would play acoustic, solo shows for patients and elderly people at a hospital where he worked as a nurse’s aid. On a few occasions, he also brought the other students together to play on the City Visions Public Access television show. It looked like this…
For his show on the Saturday, musicians of all genres, instruments, and persuasions are welcome. No experience necessary… you’ve just gotta be able to fall into a groove and then move! To be in with a chance of joining him onstage, follow this LINK
For his set at Field Day Sunday he will be collaborating with the Messengers, a group made up of musicians from the Mungo Charity/Barbican homeless music group.
We can’t wait for this!
