When Django Django played Field Day in 2012 and 2013, the move from the Village Mentality stage to the main stage seemed like a formality. Like a powerhouse rising through the ranks, the Django sound seemed at home as much in the confines of a tent as it did floating through the open air of Victoria Park. Their self-titled debut album in 2012 earned them numerous spots in album of the year polls, from NME to Rolling Stone, a five star review in the Guardian and a well-deserved Mercury Music Prize nomination.
Having settled in London to release their debut in early 2012 on the excellent Because Music, the home of Metronomy amongst many others, the band have established themselves as major players and and their follow up is becoming one of the most hotly anticipated releases of recent times, especially here at Field Day HQ. Here’s hoping we get to hear some of it on Saturday 6th June.Listen
